The South Coast Speedway Kart Club has just successfully run another State Titles

The Title was held at Surfair Speedway at Moruya with a great turn up of local drivers and a very strong interstate field with competitors coming for Queensland and Victoria.

The Juniors had a small field but there driving was top class,Aiden Corish and Dylan Goodger fought hard all day with the heats swapping places between the two .very impressive for Aiden as it is his first season and he is sticking it to the top runners,Jack King drove well threatening for the lead in the final but had vision problems which hindered his race

Results for the juniors are as follows

1st    Dylan Goodger      14

2nd    Aiden Corish        50

The Standard Class was an extremely well fought class and one of the strongest fields at the titles.

The first heat was a bit of a crash fest with Victorian driver John Shipham flying through the air in a huge crash,John did not continue racing with a badly bruised leg .

Our local drivers Robo,Phil,Terry,Mark,Geoff,Ian,Kerrie,Les and Darren were having some great battles but the Victorians ended up with a clean sweep in the final with Bob,Mark and Gareth driving excellently

Results for the Standard Class are as follows

The Modified Speedway Karts was another round of great racing,The Queenslanders were putting on quiet a show with there drivers Paul Ledgerwood and Anthony Harrison.

Bob Allen drove well in his lightning quick standard up against the modifieds and Brad King had some bad luck in the heats but was running right up there in the final until problems put him out .

Local Ray Goodger was in a 2nd heat crash which ended his night and our club president Nev Britton drove his socks off to take  victory in the final

The results for the Modified Speedway Karts are as follows

The Outlaw Class was a treat to watch,it is the fastest class and with two 16 year old boys coming 1st and 3rd taking on some of the best drivers in the country was truly great to see.

Local  driver Jadan Roxburgh had a excellent day winning 2 of the 4 heats and then clearing out in the final by nearly half a lap,Brandon Corish won a heat race and went on to finish 3rd in the final with Steve Roberston finding some extra speed to finish 2nd in the final.

It was super clean racing with no incidents and no rubbing ,probably the cleanest racing i have seen

Hi everyone,

We are already 3 rounds into our season with the first round of the East Coast Grand National Series all ready run, and what great racing it has been,

The junior racing is fantastic, the standards is the best racing i have seen in years, the opens are at each others throats, and the outlaws have really picked up the pace and are unbelievable quick.

In the last round at Surfair Speedway we had an unfortunate crash in the outlaws with Brandon Corish braking his anke,he is on the mend and the Whiteheads put a Caption Competition up for all the members to put a caption thought of what Brandon was thinking while he was upside down in the middle of his crash,we are pleased to announce that Trudi Roxburgh won the comp, but all members put in some great captions.

here is a pic of Trudi with the trophy made by the Whiteheads and some of the captions below

The winning caption was "oh what a feeling,,,,PARILLA!"

"Where's the foam pit"

"Red Bull really does give you wings"

"Oh F#@#"

" I knew i shouldnt have had that KFC twister before i raced"

"Watch that first turn its a flipper"

"Hey dad, watch! freestyle and i am still in front of you"

" The next Trick will be landing"

"I'm head over heals with Karting"

"I,m usually so down to earth"

"Icome from the land down under"

"This is gunna leave a big skidmark"

"sponsor IGA (Ive Gone Assover)"

Thanks to everyone for there participation and we did have some fun with it,but now we want Brandon well and back racing

i would like to take this chance to thank the quad drivers who had to push start 17 karts as quick as they could ,well done guys.

we had a great field of outlaws 7 in total and the all ran extremly quick at the clay track ,I think they were in the 16 seconds a lap,not bad and not for the faint hearted.

The track was perfect in the first race and did brake up a bit as the night went on but it was still a great racing track, well done to all those how raced

Hi Everyone 6/12/08

We had a really good night at Sapphire Speedway with large numbers and some great racing.

We also had a visitor from victoria Mark Kofocinski had done the long trip to find Sapphire speedway a real racey track when i spoke to mark he told me he had a ball, although visability in the last race was a bit suspect,or should i say no existent.

With the nsw titles coming up at sapphire very soon it was good to have a good run

Hi everyone ,18/10/08

three drivers had a practice night at nowra speedway, the night was run just like a race meeting with 3 heats and a final.

Ray Goodger and Iain Roxburgh were there with new comer Gary Butler driving his go kart for the first time.so i will take this opportunity to welcome Gary to the south coast speedway karting club,Gary found it a little tricky at first but improved rapidly as the night went on.

The track was the best i have ever driven on and stayed that way all night,if thats what the track will be like through the season we will be in for some great racing,by the way our lap times for the kt open were 17.1 super quick laps

gary butler Here is a pic of Gary Butler in action at Nowra Speedway Practice Day,well done Gary and welcome to the club

At the practice day the was a television production show called Living on the Coast, while there they did some interviews and some promotional video have a look at this link for the video

Hi everyone,7/10/08

We had an invatation from Capital City Speedway to try out there new track.Three drivers headed over to Canberra to try out the track,Steve Robertson,Geof Pierce and Iain Roxburgh drove in 3 heats and a final but were actually over there to have fun and that we did.

The track was a little rough but after talking to the promoter Steve,he said that this was the  worse the track had been ,so if that was the case we thought it would be great to have another track to race at,so we my be able to put a couple of there events on our callender.

we are looking forward to having a run at Canberra.    Here are some pics of the track
